Free shuttle bus
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and the old QE have a free shuttle bus service which runs from 7.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday. It carries patients, visitors and staff from car parks to QEHB, Birmingham Women's Hospital, the old QE and the Mental Health Trust.
There are drop-off areas outside the QEHB Main Entrance and Emergency Department entrance. Details of the route and pick-up/drop-off points are available in the map below.

Parking
A car park charging scheme for patients and patient visitors is in operation in all patient car parks. The main patient and visitor car park is located via Gate C, but there are a small number of parking spaces available for patients and visitors in the parking area at Gate A.
Patients and visitors are able to park for the first 20 minutes in the hospital car parks for free. You will be required to obtain a ticket from the Pay and Display Machine when making use of the free 20 minutes’ parking. Valid tickets must be displayed on site at all times.

If you’re registered - you can use Ring and Ride to visit patients in certain hospitals. Ring and Ride can't be used for journeys which can be made by ambulance.
At some hospitals, volunteers provide transport for visitors who can't use public transport. Ask at the General Office of your hospital for more information.
You may be able to get help with your travelling expenses when you go into hospital for NHS treatment and when you come out of hospital, or when you go to and from hospital as an outpatient for NHS treatment.
