Alternatives to Rail

We are sorry things have gone wrong, but let us help keep you moving

Plan your alternative journey by bus or tram in times of disruption to the rail network.

Use the journey planner below to select the stations you would normally travel to and from and we’ll calculate your best alternative.

Please check ticket acceptance arrangements with your operator as they can vary.

When things go wrong, West Midlands Railway will ask local public transport operators (primarily National Express West Midlands) to help customers to reach their destination, by accepting rail tickets for travel on local bus services or the tram. There will be announcements at station and information will be made available on the West Midland Railway website and their Twitter feed to tell you which operators have agreed to this.

If you are delayed by 15min or more then you can claim Delay Repay.

If the journey planner suggests an operator not covered by ticket acceptance you may have to pay for these journeys.
