Welcome back

Welcome back

Stay safe and keep moving

Your transport network is open and ready to get you where you need to go.

Bus operators are running all services again with every bus back out on the road. Train and tram are operating with a few less services at certain times but are planning to be back to normal by September.

Whether you are returning to public transport or a first-time user there are some things to keep in mind before you start your journey. Your safety is our number one priority, so we have had to make a few changes. Your journey will be a little different, but we have all the information you need to get you back on board.

We have been working with operators continuously throughout the pandemic to make sure that, in line with Government guidance, measures are in place to get you where you need to go in a safe way.

Stay safe on public transport

We're working hard to keep everyone safe and there are things that you can do too:

  • Please wear a face covering in transport hubs and on board

  • Keep space between yourself and others

  • Carry hand sanitiser and wash your hands before and after travelling

  • Pay for your tickets in advance or use contactless where possible

What's being done to keep you safe

The safety of customers and staff is everyone's top priority. So, in line with government guidance, we have worked with operators to put in place extra measures:

  • Extra cleaning on buses, trains and trams

  • Measures to help guide you to keep your distance

  • The safer travel partnership is working to enforce the use of face coverings

Car Sharing

You should try not to share a vehicle with those outside your household or support bubble.

If you need to, there is safety guidance for you to follow.

Face Covering

You must wear a face covering when in a transport hub or onboard, unless exempt. We’ve pulled together lots of information on how to make your own face covering, how to dispose of one and where and when you need one.
