Primark opening

Duration: Thu 11 Apr 2019 to Sun 14 Apr 2019
Location: West Midlands

Store address: 38 High Street, Birmingham, B4 7SL

The UK's largest Primark store will open on Birmingham High Street on Thursday 11 April 2019.

It is anticipated people from all over the country will visit Primark’s flagship store during the opening weekend which coincides with a book signing by Love Island winner Dani Dyer, at Waterstones on Saturday 13 April at 3pm.

With both events taking place during the first weekend of the school Easter holidays, alongside Villa playing at home and a Bhangra event at Birmingham Arena please plan ahead as roads and public transport will be busier than normal.

Key travel advice:

Opening day: Thursday 11 April

  • Plan ahead: Primark is open until 9pm so if you’re visiting after school or work consider coming into the city centre after 6pm when roads and public transport will be quieter.
  • Be patient and expect to queue: Birmingham New Street, Birmingham Moor Street and surrounding areas are likely to be very busy.
  • Use public transport wherever possible: to reduce congestion in the city centre.
  • Consider other car parks: the car parks closest to Primark will be the busiest, so if you do need to drive, consider parking further away.

Advice for the opening weekend Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 April

  • Plan ahead: Primark will be quietest when it first opens at 8am, so consider coming into Birmingham earlier in the day to get the store to yourself
