Helping schools promote 'Eco' travel

Grants have been given to nine schools in the area to encourage pupils to cycle to school.

We have also provided cycle training, bike fix it sessions and led bike rides for over 400 pupils, delivered by Birmingham City Council.

Over 700 pupils have taken part in guided educational walks with the Ramblers or public transport journey planning workshops, to help them travel sustainably in the future.

Feedback from schools involved

"Pershore Road Travel choices fund has given us a fantastic opportunity to buy a number of bikes and cycling equipment for our children which we couldn't have bought without their support. The children are out on the bikes regularly now in our after school club, loving the freedom and fun the bikes provide."
Kerri James, Raddlebarn Primary School

"Taking part in the Pershore Road Travel Choices Project was fantastic! The staff were great and helped with a variety of things including applying for the grant and updating our school travel plan. The grant provided by the project has allowed us to purchase items that have made a real difference to our school, including bike and scooter racks, enabling the children to exercise on the way to school whilst promoting sustainable travel."
Karen Sweeny, Stirchley Community School

We have already helped nine schools in the area this year.
