August Bank Holiday weekend 2013

 

Rail Bus and Metro services

There will be changes to normal rail, bus and Metro services in the Network West Midlands area during the August Bank Holiday period.

Rail

Friday 23rd August

A reduced service will operate

London Midland train services between Birmingham New Street and Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley will run between Birmingham New Street and Tame Bridge Parkway only (to a special timetable at a reduced level of frequency). Rail replacement buses will operate between Tame Bridge Parkway and Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley.

Saturday 24th August

A reduced service will operate.

London Midland train services between Birmingham New Street and Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley will run between Birmingham New Street and Tame Bridge Parkway only (to a special timetable at a reduced level of frequency). Rail replacement buses will operate between Tame Bridge Parkway and Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley. After 20:00 rail replacement buses will operate between Coventry and Nuneaton.

An amended train service will operate on Virgin Trains with some trains calling at additional stations in the West Midlands. Late evening services on Saturday and early morning services on Sunday will be diverted via the West Midlands.

Sunday 25th August

A reduced service will operate.

London Midland will operate rail replacement buses between Birmingham New Street and Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley.

No trains will run on Arriva Trains Wales services between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International, passengers should use other train operators services.

An amended train service will operate on Virgin Trains with some trains calling at additional stations in the West Midlands. Late evening services on Saturday and early morning services on Sunday will be diverted via the West Midlands.

Monday 26th August

A reduced service will operate.

London Midland train services between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International which terminate at / start from Birmingham International will not run, with other services operating between Birmingham New Street and Northampton / London Euston calling additionally at Adderley Park, Stechford and Lea Hall.

Rail replacement buses will operate between Birmingham New Street and Walsall / Rugeley Trent Valley.

Train services between Birmingham New Street and Shrewsbury will operate to a special timetable based on a Saturday service frequency.

Train services between Birmingham New Street and Worcester / Hereford will operate to a special timetable with some morning and evening peak services not operating.

Local stopping train services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street will operate to a special timetable at a reduced level of frequency.

Train services between Lichfield Trent Valley and Redditch (via Birmingham New Street) will operate to a special timetable at a reduced level of frequency.

Chiltern Railways services between Birmingham - Stratford-upon-Avon - Banbury - High Wycombe - London Marylebone will operate a Saturday service.

Cross Country train services are diverted between Birmingham New Street and Stafford and will not call at Wolverhampton.

Virgin Trains will operate a revised timetable between London Euston and Wolverhampton. Only two trains per hour in each direction will be in operation, throughout the day.

Bus

Saturday 24th August

A normal service will operate.

Ring and Ride will operate normal services.

Sunday 25th August

A normal service will operate.

Ring and ride will operate normal services.

Monday 26th August

A Sunday service will operate.

Ring and Ride will operate normal services.

Metro

Saturday 24th August

A normal service will operate.

Sunday 25th August

A normal service will operate.

Monday 26th August

A 15 minute Sunday service will operate.
